Dating back to 1889, it is believed that Neapolitan pizzamaker Raffaele Esposito created the “Pizza Margherita,” to honor the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy. - 3/4 cup pizza sauce
- 1 package (8 oz) fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/8-inch slices
- 1/4 cup finely shredded fresh basil leaves

Step1Heat oven to 400°F. Grease 15x10-inch or larger cookie sheet with shortening or cooking spray. Unroll dough on cookie sheet. Starting at center, press out dough into 15x10-inch rectangle. Bake 10 minutes.

Step2Spread sauce over partially baked crust. Place mozzarella slices evenly over sauce. Bake 8 to 12 minutes longer or until crust is deep golden brown. Sprinkle basil over pizza.
